We had a two hour drive down the coast then inland along a gorgeous river to pick up D2 from Eugene who was flying in from LA.

Perfect timing to the minute, we drove into the airport as she walked out of the terminal! Back on the 101 the highway wound its way between amazing coastal views and the soaring redwood forests. We found a gorgeous spot on a lake for lunch and started learning about these magnificent trees in the Visitor’s Centre.

This was the most beautiful coastal drive, I even managed to unclench my fingers and take some photos!
These photos were taken around Gold Beach, maybe the skies are always like this, but I think it was because of nearby bushfires.
It was a long day, but unforgettable, the sky was still golden when we reached Brookings, our home for the night.
And I loved this sign spotted on a walk around town, look at it carefully, somehow they all sort of fit together!
Looks like a pretty place!! I think I saw D1 this week. On Tuesday my daughter took me for a drive (still in recovery from op) and she popped into the chemart and while I was waiting in her car I’m sure I saw her stroll past. I thought you may have been back!! But here you are, loving it!
You probably did, she didn’t have as long as us!
